Meet Kayden
Kayden Rodriguez (he/him or they/them) is a transmasculine individual currently pursuing a Masters of Social Work at The University of Central Florida. Raised in San Antonio, Texas, Kayden has been in the Tampa Bay Area since 2012, when he moved to start his Bachelors of Fine Arts at The University of Tampa.
Kayden has a great passion for advocating and supporting all marginalized individuals, with a specialization in the LGBTQ+ community.
Since graduating UT, Kayden has brought a unique background and creative mindset to a variety of social service positions including, but not limited to, LGBTQ+ support groups, LGBTQ+ programming, & the child welfare system. He has also volunteered for LGBTQ+ organizations and is now the Trans+ Programming Chair on the Board of Directors with the Tampa Bay International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (TIGLFF).
Kayden currently works full-time at The Spring of Tampa Bay, Hillsborough County’s certified Domestic Violence Center. As a Prevention Team Advocate, he takes great pride in facilitating the LGBTQ+ Roundtable, the company’s volunteer group focused on advocacy, support, and education of LGBTQ+ domestic violence relationships.
As an intern for Just Be Rooted, Kayden is excited to learn and grow while simultaneously partnering with clients and community members to assist in meeting their needs.
